This mega thread is a compilation of things that could/should be added to Skyblock for season 6!

| Add the new /shop GUI. (Prison, Survival, Factions) | Please consider balancing some of the prices for items in the shop. Currently some shop prices are just silly. (Podzol being $500 a piece, etc) Do not add 'all' items. Currently a niche market, is chest-shops of non buy-able items, like redstone, colored clay, colored glass, etc. Don't kill this market by making every single item buy-able. | This has been implemented! |
| Only Two Skyblock realms | - I know some people won't want this, but honestly its for the best. The player population is split 65% in SB1, 20% in SB2, and 15% in SB3. By having just 2 realms, both will have more players on it, making it feel more full. Right now there's 20 people on SB3, and 120 on SB1. | This has been implemented! |
| Make sponsored islands BETTER! | - A while ago I made a comment on a post, for a much more useful 'sponsored islands' system. This system would be more of a 'sponsored things' system. | [Population] tag for welcome signs | The [Population] tag gets replaced with 'x Players' every time someone enters/leaves an island. You could keep a list in-memory of how many players are at each island. When the 'Leaving island...' message is sent, decrements that counter by one. When the 'Entering island...' message is sent, increase that counter by one. Then update the sign to have 'x Players' | ? |
| Fix ticking tile entities | Certain things like Spawners and Hoppers are randomly becoming non-responsive. You can see an example of this with hoppers, from my Bug Report and spawners not working from Judas_Priest_'s Bug Report | ? |
| Add /is bank | Same as /withdraw, except for the WHOLE island team. /is bank withdraw X, /is bank deposit X. Possibly add perms for this? /is trust bank X to give them bank access? I don't really know how Factions fbank works. | This has been implemented! |
| Support 1.12? | - Will you be supporting 1.12, much like creative has? - There are many changes, specifically in things like redstone which enable MUCH more compact and lag-friendly designs. - This also includes new mobs, building blocks and mechanics. - Would this possibly be supported? | Re-add /is top 1,2,3,4,5 | Keep the same interface, but add a next/previous page button to scroll through the pages. Sucks that players who aren't in the top 10 don't get people seeing their islands anymore. /baltop has top 50, why not /is top? | This has been implemented! |
| Bring back /is value, and other metrics! | - Bring back /is value, the old one that counted the value of your blocks. It's just nice to have more stats! - Also, bring back spawner count! Last season you could see an island level, value and spawner count. Its cool to see what islands have the most spawners! - Also, count hoppers! Its nice to see how many hoppers people have too. More stats are always awesome! Because, at the moment, the high scores has kills, deaths and KDR. Which is not really cared about, as Skyblock is not heavily PvP orientated. - To fix the '/is value' command that gives the blocks point value, why not rename it to /itemvalue, or /blockvalue? | This has been implemented! |
| Add a clearlag timer! | - /clearlag or /cl - says "Clearlag will happen in 2 minutes 32 seconds..." - Alternatively, add it to the scoreboard, updating it every minute. "Clearlag in 2min" | ? |
| Promote sub-server discords! | - As good as the MCC discord is, the sub-server discords are much more active. - Our discord has booster/crash notifications, and a custom written discord bot by me. - These booster notifications alert players that a booster has been activated, insensitivity players to log on and take advantage of the booster. - These player-run discord server should be allowed to be advertised in chat, and should even be promoted with a /discord command! | ? |
| Add a monument for the top 5 or 10 islands. | - Just like how Factions has that monument that shows the top 6 factions! I LOVE this. I would love to see this happen for Skyblock. Show island levels, island value, spawners count, maybe hopper count?, and maybe wealth? (combined balances of the players from that island) | This has been implemented! |
| Add Boss Event (from Survival) or Last man standing (from Prison) or King of the hill (from Factions) | - This would add some much needed 'events' for Skyblock. As well as add a reason to PvP. | Zombies Drop Iron | Bring back zombies dropping iron, it was a nice thing to have. Lower level players would use these for levels. | ? |
| Eco changes | - I will fill this out later. Propsed changes for various farmable items to make manual farming more profitable. (Such as buff melons and pumpkins to make them worth farming, as you can use an eff5 fort3 hatchet on mellons, for a pretty unique farm.) | Manual farm eco changes have been made! |
| Fix point values for some blocks! | - Specifically, logs, leaves, grass, mycelium and vines. I did suggest earlier on this season to MULTIPLY the point value of all blocks by 10. Then, make it require 1000 points per level, instead of 100. This means you could have vines have 1 point, which would effectivly reduce vine levels by 10x. - At the moment, for the last 3-4 months one of the top islands has had 33,000 levels. Completely from vines. If this changes was in place, this island would only have 3,300 levels. This would solve vine spam. Likewise similar changes for leaves and logs to stop tree spam. | A cap of 1,000 vine levels has been added. Vine spam fixed! |
| Fix disconnect.spam | - If you type /sell all multiple times in a small period of time, you will get disconnected with disconnect.spam, remove the disconnect.spam rule for the /sell all command. Spoiler: Click to seeShow | |
| Buff point values for some blocks! | - Some blocks have an underwhelming point value, where as other blocks have more points than they should. - Things like Sand, SoulSand, Spawners, Beacons, Crops, etc should all have better point values. They have actual utility value and should give many more points than other blocks that serve no purpose. - In saying that, none of these blocks should give any better points per dollar than gold or emeralds. I will happily write up a spreadsheet that gives the points per dollar and orders them by value. | ? |
| Fix Stacked Mobs! | - Stacked Mobs were broken at the end of last season. The player 0001 even GAVE you the config file for fixing the drops. PLEASE fix them. - As it stands, about 25% of the time, a stack of mobs will drop NOTHING. - It appears as though it rolls a number between 0 and the max drop count. It then chooses that number, and multiplies the stack count by that number, and drops that many items. So it either drops lots, some, or none. This is not correct behaviour. I believe its just a config option to randomise loot. | Merge mobs have been implemented server side, no longer a plugin, this makes it so much better! Don't know about drops. |
| Add more Mob Spawners (I will balance prices later to make them not stupidly OP) | - Enderman (Pearls) - Witch (Junk: Sugar, Sticks, Glass Bottles. | Faster Hoppers. | - Hoppers are too slow, especially when the server TPS drops. I know in the past, a change was made for hoppers to move 12 items at a time. I'm not sure how possible it is to make hoppers move 12 items at a time, at the same speed they currently transfer at. This would allow for more compact sorters, as we won't need to spam as many hoppers to collect items. - (Please note, do not change the transfer quantity TOO much, as it will stop sorting systems from working. 12 items at a time would be nice, and would not break any conventional hopper filter designs) | This has been implemented! | Better Tools! | - Add some fast tools to Voting/Ancient keys. - They aren't very vanilla, but they would be so nice for knocking down builds that have sturdy materials. - Pickaxe with Eff 10 - Hatchet with Eff 10 | This has been kinda implemented! Explosive pickaxe for 3x3 mining |
| Buff Fishing! (Again) | - Fishing should be buffed yet again. - Add a random loot table for fishing, with a 1/128 drop rate of a rare item. (Fishing with Lure III takes 5-30 seconds with a fishing enchanted fishing rod. On average it should take 17.5 seconds. Which means about ~200 catches an hour) - The rare table could contain: 1 Soulsand, 1 Sand, Hopper, Beacon, Random CHEAP Spawner. - This mean every hour you should get just under 2 rare drops. This would average about 35k/hr | Fishing prices have been buffed! |
| (Controversial) Profit Signs | - A faster way to sell items. - A new shop sign, that when you right click, it buys the item and sells it straight away. - The server could automatically calculate the profit. - Lets say 500 wool, and I set the sign to B:225 - The sell price is (0.50 * 500 = 250) - The profit sign would be: P:25, for profit 25. - This would allow a 'sell wand' style feature, but would also not kill profit shops! | ? |
| Make more stuff /sell-able | - Junk like damaged bows, golden swords, slime balls, etc. Should be able to be sold. - They don't have to have a nice price, just it would be nice to sell them for petty cash to clear inventories. | This has been implemented! (Some items!) |

| Fix PvP | - Disable TPA in pvp. I know you can do it. You have disabled certain commands in certain zones in Factions. So I know you can do it. - (Controversial) Disable ALL commands in PvP combat. -- Currently people use /ec, /chest, /chest2 in PvP to stockpile extra potions, Notch apples, and Golden apples. These perks should NOT give a PvP benifit. -- People also use /repair in PvP, which means anybody without bedrock rank is almost unable to PvP, as anyone with /repair will outlast them. | ? |
| /cook - Bring it back, as a Donation ability, NOT a perk. | - It has some VERY niche uses, but for the most part is not used. - It should not be a perk, as its not very useful. - It should be a GOLD rank perk. | ? |
| Harvest hoes... | - Some people love them, some people hate them. - I'd like to see it put to Fortune II as a way to balance it a little. - I'd like to see harvest hoes as a VERY, VERY rare voting reward. As it stands, they are FAR too difficult for an average player to obtain. - This naturally comes with the issue that if more people use Harvest Hoes, more cash will flow into the game. | Wart prices reduced, balanced. | Rename Scrolls. | - People are still cross about the removal of /rename. - If you won't bring it back, consider making rename scrolls more common, possibly as a RARE voting reward. - Remove rename scrolls from the Mythical chest if this change is made. | ? |
| Stop randomly deleting villagers. | - Its a pain to breed them. - There have been 2 or 3 times this season where every villager has been randomly deleted. Don't do this. If you are going to make them permanent entities, don't randomly decide to delete them without saying a word. | ? |
| Season Length | - Keep it at 6-7 months. This is a nice timeframe, not too long, not too short. Keeps it interesting. - Resets should occur 1-2 days before a flash sale, for increased revenue. | ? |
| Do NOT implement cash prizes! | - There has been talk of this. Don't. - Skyblock is not a game mode that should have a cash prize competitive aspect to it. | No cash prize, good! |
| Add a 'Hall of fame' | - At the end of every season, list down the top 10 islands (and the members). - Add these islands to the hall of fame. - (Possibly /baltop too? more reasons to compete) - This build could be transferred between seasons, and adds a 'prize' for being in the top. | ? |
| Format Numerical outputs! | - Do this everywhere. Not just on Skyblock. - EVERY numerical output should be formatted. It's not hard to do. So do it, please. Make some re-usable generic code that takes a number input, and outputs it as a formatted string. PLEASE. - Reading 234512 is harder than 234,512. | Partially. When buying or selling items it doesn't format the end 0s correctly. |
| Announce the reset 12-24 hours early! | - What you did on Prison was good. - People knew of the incoming reset, and prepared. - I would suggest ALSO adding a broadcast that broadcasts every 15 minutes. - This broadcast could say "Skyblock is resetting at (TIME) AEST. All Islands, Balances, Chests and items will be cleared. Get ready for new updates, a fresh economy, and a new start!" | Reset was announced 3 days early! |
| Mini Boosters! | - Boosters cost WAY too much. -Currently, you will benefit more by buying 4x ancient keys, or 2x mythical keys, rather than one market booster. -Perhaps change boosters into 'mini' boosters. -Example, market booster, instead of 1 hour, reduce to 30 minutes. Reduce the price from $10 USD to $2.50 USD. -This would encourage MORE people to buy boosters, and also encourage MORE players to log on during boosters! -I've analysed sales data, and boosters are one of the least profitable items on the shop. Making them more affordable will make them more profitable. | All boosters removed? Possibly to place these later. |
